Disciples and Stewards – Worship

Crucifixion by Fra Angelico

The best thing any human being can do is worship God. It fulfills our highest purpose, our destiny… to know, love, and serve God during this life, and spend eternity rejoicing in His presence. Worship is the first and best way to fulfill the greatest commandment: to love the Lord our God with our whole heart, mind, strength and soul.

So how do we worship God? At the Last Supper, Jesus gave us the Holy Mass as the perfect and final form of worship in this life. We should come to Mass rejoicing to have such a Savior. During Mass, we should praise and glorify God with all our hearts, because He comes to us again in the Most Blessed Sacrament. The Holy Mass is the closest we can be to God this side of Heaven.

If you find yourself struggling to worship, ask God to teach you to worship Him in a way that is pleasing to Him. It may be the best gift you’ll ever get.
