Disciples & Stewards – Look at the Saints

Disciples and Stewards

Saints are living Gospels

The saints help us know the will of God by showing us what it looks like when someone really lives out the Gospel. The Church holds them up as examples of discipleship lived to the fullest.

Notice that God doesn’t make cookie cutter saints. God doesn’t will to make us all identical like robots that come off the factory floor. His variety is endless. There are saints who prayed,  taught, served the poor, chastised the powerful, performed miracles, traveled the world, stayed at home, ruled kingdoms, ministered to slaves, sold themselves into slavery. Each one sought to do God’s will with all their heart.

Find a saint whose story you love, and pray to see ways you can follow in their footsteps. The journey might take a season or it could last a lifetime. Only God knows the adventure He has planned for YOU!

Disciples and Stewards  is a series of short weekly meditations written with Church Bulletins in mind. If you would like to feature Disciples and Stewards in your bulletin, please contact the Almoner at nathan@thealmoner.com.
